Moral booster for salone boxers

Sierra Leone professional boxer Tuesday boosted the team with equipment in order to be competitive in the ongoing Zone II boxing championship in Freetown .

Ulric Caramba-Coker who is now a member of the British army and also boxing for the force donated over three thousand pounds worth of boxing equipment to the team.

Handing over the items to the Sierra Leone Boxing Association (SLBA) financial Secretary, Coker said he together with another Sierra Leone international boxer, Tony Cesay decided to get the items for the association.

“This is not the first time me and Cesay are doing such donation for boxing, we hope to do more in order to lift the association and the boxers to a higher height,” Coker said.

SLBA financial Secretary, Ibrahim Sankoh thanked Coker and Cesay for their effort in promoting boxing, adding that, “only few international boxers render such help like they (Coker & Cesay) did.”

Sankoh promised Coker and the entire nation that the team will win the trophy and all the gold and silver medals.

The items SLBA benefited from includes: 9 track suits, four International Boxing Association (IBA) approved head guards, 7 sets training gloves, three sets training pads t-shirt four green and red sets of vest each, 12 gum guards.

Also included are: a championship and runners-up trophy for the competition, 12 silver and gold medal each, and 24 bronze medals.
