After defeating the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Force (RSLAF) 1-0 at the National Stadium on Sunday, Buck United were crowned champions of the Kingtom Football Association (K-FA) female league.
Sarah Sesay was the heroine of the day as her right-footed shot in the 18-yard box in the 29th minute of the first half of the match gave Buck United the only goal of the day which saw them clinching to the trophy.
Despite referee Tejan's disallowing of Sarah's opening goal for being an indirect free kick, the Buck United squad put up an impressive performance to overpower their RSLAF counterpart.
After the match, Sesay, who was crowned best player of the tournament, told Concord Sports that she was happy for her achievement though she maintained that her side really deserved being called champions going by their outstanding performance throughout the competition.
Disappointed with her teammates' performance, RSLAF goalkeeper, Fatima Ajami admitted that her team's performance was not good enough as their approach in the match was not competitive.
"We did not play like we did in our other matches. The team failed to attack our opponents and create chances," Ajami who was crowned as best goalkeeper of the tournament said.
Hawa Lombi of Amazon grabbed the golden boot award for her nine goals.
