GIBO, OTHERS JOIN LEONE STARS

Romania-based defender, Gibrilla Woobay aka Gibo, yesterday joined the likes of Pa Saffa and Reflex, who had earlier arrived the Leone Stars camp.

Two other professionals, Mustapha Haji Bangura and Warren Kanu, both from Cyprus , also arrived the camp with the team.

The camp has moved to Mahera Hotel in Lungi.

Though barely a week to the team's opening match against Equatorial Guinea in Malabo for the 2010 Nations Cup/World Cup qualifiers, more professionals, including the captain, Mohamed Kallon, are expected to jet in today.

According to Coach Kanu, his first policy in camp will be discipline. He said this will be applicable to every player and whoever goes against the camp rule will be dealt with.

“Every Sierra Leonean is expecting much from the team. The people are hoping we get good results in our opening match so if we want to get good results, we must be disciplined,” said Coach Kanu.

This is the first national call up for Haji since he went to Cyprus from Old Edwardians. The striker's call is a boost to the team's striking force which has been faced with some problems in past matches.

Meanwhile, the Federation International Football Association (FIFA) inspector, Kalusha Bwalya will arrive today finally after several postponements.
