Moyamba district chief imam of the Supreme Islamic Council Alhaji Alpha Wonneh has been inaugurated at the Native administrative Court Barray by the regional chief imam Sheik Mohamed S Koroma.

Giving his keynote address Sheik Koroma said the inaugurations marked another milestone in the history of the Supreme Islamic Council and the district as a whole.

He called on the chief imam to brace himself up for the task and to serve his people well, saying leadership was servanthood.

He advised the newly elected chief to work hard and in the best interest of his people.

“The Almighty Allah wants people to work hard to achieve their own destiny in life,” he said and advised that leaders must not consider themselves superior to their subjects if they would want serve them honestly and diligently.

Sheik MS Koroma prayed for God's guidance and stability in the country.
