Marampa Masimera Community Bank (MMCB) limited continues to support the Lunsar community people by providing them with access to banking services and loans.
On Saturday, at the bank's annual general meeting of shareholders held in Lunsar, board chairman Syl Khanu said the bank plays a significant role in the building of a stable and growing economy.
“We believe that in order to fully support economic growth and rising employment, financial sector should be accessible and open to every one” he said.
Khanu said MMCB wants to give people a chance to work and protect their dignity. He emphasized on the need to provide financial services for communities and also supporting wider local initiatives.
“We want to promote a ‘savings culture' to help low income households understand the benefits of savings” he said.
He lauded the bank manager Bockarie H. Fomba for his good work.
Paramount Chief Bai Koblo Queen II said his chiefdom was gratified for the development of the bank and that they were working very hard to improve on the lives of the rural poor in the communities.
Local resident Amadu Kamara said they were very happy for the opening of the bank in their community; an effort he said has triggered them to imbibe a saving culture.
“We are happy and grateful for this development in our community and we will continue to support the bank,” he said.
