Simbo set for French league

If everything goes well, Mighty Blackpool and Shooting Stars captain, David Simbo will be on his way to join the French league next season.

Following an outstanding display against Senegal , the skipper's performance attracted one of Lyon FC's scouts who also work for Lens FC.

Simbo said the French scout wants him to join Lyon FC or Lens FC.

After the match, the French scout visited the Sierra Leone camp at the Hotel Independent where he held a discussion with Simbo at his room 94 before holding talks with coach Sankoh and other officials.

Simbo told Concord Sports that, “I gave him my contact number, and that of some officials of Mighty Blackpool. He wants me to join Lyon or Lens.”

The versatile player, who can play in both midfield and defense, said he whole-heartedly welcomed the scout's interest.

“I am happy for the interest shown. I'll be happy to move to France , it only depends on the negotiation between my club and the scout. I believe my club will not let this opportunity go,” he said.

Simbo believes he can survive any trial under whatever circumstances. About the language barrier, he maintained that he can cope just like any other player from different regions playing in the French league.

It was also confirmed that the likes of Abu Tommy, Ibrahim Koroma aka Marcel and Alusine Kamara are all in the French scout's register.
