Acting director of information at the ministry of information and communications has said in Bo that the out gone Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) implemented numerous development projects but could not communicate to Sierra Leoneans.
During a provincial consultative meeting with the national communications strategy project, Dominic Lamin said the current government does not want to repeat the mistakes of SLPP. He observed that they were highly determined to ensure that journalists and the general public are adequately informed on important positive and negative issues affecting their lives.
He said the All Peoples Congress government is determined to change the trend to a bottom-top approach and called on the public to be part of the information strategy.
A lecturer in the Mass Communications department in Nigeria , Bala Muhammad commended the government for making information accessible to the grassroots.
Local communications consultant, Rod Mac-Johnson said many developed and developing countries have the communications strategy project that has strengthened their communications network.
He described good communications as a bedrock for development.
