With the football world governing body FIFA final inspection drawing nearer, work at the National Stadium in Freetown is almost in conclusion to meet the dead line.

According to the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) the FIFA inspector, who doubles as Zambia 's Football Association president, Kalusha Bwalya will arrive in Freetown this week.

The one time Zambia captain final inspection is to check the implementation of the request made by FIFA on the facilities at the Stadium.

The request includes the improvement of the pitch and toilet facilities, the stadium's capacity, officials and players' dressing room facility and the security of players.

However, the almost completed work at the stadium ahead of Bwalya's inspection has been a satisfactory work to fans, stakeholders and even the national team coach, Ahmed Kanu.

One of the site's contractors Ibrahim Sesay told Concord Sports that they are happy with the speedy movement of the work.

He said, “I hope Bwalya will be pleased with the work, for our effort not to be seen as fruitless endeavour.”

According to the Stadium Manager, Umar Aziz, all the workers have been doing extremely well to meet deadline.

Coach Kanu stated, “I thank God the work has gone so far and even beyond, I am hopeful fans will have the opportunity to watch their players at home.”

If FIFA give the stadium a green light, Leone Stars will host Nigeria, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea in Freetown, while if things went the other way, Leone Stars will play it home matches in Liberia.
