FC Kallon's top striker, Ibrahim Tetteh Bangura has returned to the pitch after he survived a year-long crucial ligament injury which almost ended his football career.
The 2005/2006 Sierra Leone Commercial Bank premier league goal king made his comeback from injury on Saturday as his team play Ports Authority in WAFRA gala.
He was however substituted in the 75 th minute.
With beaming smiles, the striker told Concord Sports it was a difficult moment for him to nurse the injury and do without kicking a ball for a year.
He said, “It was very difficult for me not to kick a ball for a whole year but I thank God I am back. I am grateful to my club, FC Kallon and all others who stood by me when I was depressed.”
“It was a difficult battle between courage and faith. At some point, I thought I will no longer play football but I overcame everything.”
The striker further stated that he is back in full force and ready to return to his goal scoring form.
“Despite the fact that I am not 100% fit now, I am prepared to return to full fitness. I am ready to fight for the golden boot in the next football season,” Tetteh said.
The striker was able to recover from the long term injury after a successful operation in Belgium during his stay with one of the country's top division club, BK Hacken.
Sources within FC Kallon revealed that the Belgian outfit are poised to sign the striker and would call for him soon.
